Amy Lynn Shilling (Rodriguez), 39, the daughter of Pamela (McConkey) Hernandez and a wonderful man she called dad, Reginald (Reggie) Dee Gray, passed away on January 12, 2019 in ICU at the University of Missouri Hospital in Colombia, MO after a long battle with M.S. Amy was born February 9, 1979 in Newton, Iowa. She attended school in Newton and later moved to Marshalltown. At the age of 18 she worked at Monfort for 10 years and then worked at Burke Manufacturing in Nevada for 7 years, which she loved working there. In 2012 she had to retire, however, due to multiple sclerosis. She lived with her sister, Buffi, in Livonia, MO for the last 5 ½ years.At the age of 21 Amy was diagnosed with progressive M.S., which she fought until the very end. She loved her sonny boy, Wyatt Rodriguez, of Marshalltown, and the Chicago Cubs.Amy was preceded in death by her great grandparents and her dad, Reggie. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Wyatt Rodriguez of Marshalltown; her mother Pamela Hernandez of Marshalltown; sisters Kendra Castellanos of Union, Buffi Gates of Livonia and Courtney Gonzalez of Marshalltown; Grandma Donna (Wayne) Northcutt of Newton; uncles Dennis (Lori) Rainey and Patrick (Renae) Northcutt of Newton; aunt Becky Lane of Knoxville; and will be dearly missed by Tonya Guthrie, Tony Gray, Nicky Cowan and Heather Oswalt, whom she considered as siblings; 4 nephews, 3 nieces and 2 great nieces as well as many cousins. Amy was preceded in death by her great grandparents and her dad, Reggie.
