Andrea Klatt Durr

Andrea Klatt Durr, 61, of Moravia Iowa, formerly of Marshalltown, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 after a long battle with polymyositis. Funeral service on Friday, July 11 at 10:30am at St John United Church of Christ in Melbourne with luncheon to follow at the church fellowship hall. Saturday, July 12 from noon until 6 pm, a gathering for family and friends will be held at 201 2nd Ave in Melbourne. Lunch will be provided. Everyone is welcome. Andrea was born in Marshalltown on February 12, 1953 to Herbert and Charlotte Harrand Klatt. She was raised in Melbourne and graduated in 1971 from West Marshall High School in State Center. Andrea and Rick Durr were united in marriage on June 18, 1977 in Melbourne. They lived in Brazil for one year and later lived in Indianapolis before settling in Marshalltown to be close to family and friends. Andrea worked at Wolfe Eye Clinic and Flooring Gallery but was happiest being a wife and homemaker. Andrea had many passions including fishing, water skiing, boating, wakeboarding, camping, oil painting, crocheting, bird watching, and gardening. She loved her trips to France with her sister and especially enjoyed her little Yorkie named Georgie. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Rick Durr, sons Jon and Matt Durr, siblings Pamela Robinson, Vickie Stahl, Herb (Laura) Klatt, Jeff (Marsha) Klatt, mother Charlotte Klatt, mother-in-law Virginia Durr and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Andrea was preceded in death by her father Herb, father-in-law Lloyd and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
