Angela Long

Angela Pauline Long, 61, of Marshalltown, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Unity Point Hospital in Marshalltown.

A visitation for Angie will take place on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. Angela Pauline Atkinson was born on August 4, 1961 in Grinnell, Iowa to Donald and Sheila (Turck) Atkinson. She graduated from BGM High School in 1980 and went on to attend cosmetology school. On September 26, 1987, Angie was united in marriage to Darwin Long at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brooklyn, Iowa. Angie had previously worked at St. Francis of Assisi-St. Henry Catholic Church as the director of day care. She enjoyed watching television (Wheel of Fortune and ME TV) and just getting out of the house when she would feel “cooped up”.

Angie is survived by her husband, Darwin of 35 years; children: Caleb Long of Marshalltown and Chelsea (Jason) Nobiling of Huxley. Father: Don Atkinson of Brooklyn, Iowa. Step-son: Jason Long of Marshalltown. Grandchildren: Bodie and Barrett. She is also survived by her brother: Tim (Sheri) Atkinson of Brooklyn, Iowa. Angie is preceded in death by her mother: Sheila.
