Anna Mae Larson, 85, of Marshalltown died Saturday, September 20th, 2008 at Grandview Heights Nursing Home while in care of their staff, Iowa River Hospice, and her loving family at her side. A celebration of Annas life will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 24th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Bobby Shomo officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Anna will be laid to rest in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed to the family. Born on October 14th, 1922, in the German Township in Grundy County, Anna was the daughter of Hannas and Sara (Wolf) Willems. She grew up and attended school there. On August 14th, 1939, Anna was united in marriage to Arnold Larson in Iowa Falls. The couple made their home in several Central Iowa towns, until settling in Marshalltown some 25 years ago. Anna worked at Marshalltown Manufacturing and in construction with her husband. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Anna very much enjoyed radio talk shows, reading, and especially her grandchildren. Left to cherish Annas memory are her children: William (Pat) Larson of Sun City, AZ, Larry (Cheryl) Larson of Marshalltown, Shella (Larry) Hazen of Lake View, AR, Ronald (Jeannie) Larson of Reinbeck, and Bonnie (David) Cerka of Marshalltown; sisters Martha Dolly Larson of Boone and Rosemary Wiley of Ankeny; 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. In death, Anna has rejoined her beloved husband Arnold, son Robert, grandson Tracy Larson, 2 sisters, and her parents.
