Anna Six

Anna Six, 76, of Rhodes, died early Sunday morning, February 10th, at the Villa del Sol while in their care, the Iowa River Hospice and her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 16th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Immediately following will be a time of fellowship and refreshments. Born Anna Vanderwaal on January 8th, 1932, in Prairie City, Iowa, she was the daughter of James G. and Ann (Levine) Vanderwaal. In 1949, she was united in marriage to James P. Six and they had five children. They made their home in Rhodes. Mrs. Six was employed at the Marshall County Care Facility in the 1970s until retiring due to health. She enjoyed her family, friends, dog Chewy and her church family. Left to cherish her memory are four children: John (Jackie) Six of Marshalltown, Kathy Wescott of Marshalltown, Renee (Bob) Schultz of Brown Wood, Texas, Vicki (Duane) Jackson of Marshalltown, 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a host of friends. In death she has rejoined her parents, her son James and brother James (Dewey).
