Husak was born on May 22, 1959, in Marshalltown, Iowa. Her parents, Walter and Willy (VanDuinen) Henschke had a place down by Wolf Lake and Annie loved to swim with her friends there. As she grew up she played basketball with the Grossman kids who were neighbors, was hung upside down in the rain barrel by her brother Pete, and was the unwilling customer of her sister Regina, who was taking cosmetology classes. Annie attended school at LDF and loved playing 6 on 6 basketball as a forward. After graduation in 1977, she attended MCC, went to work for Grandview Heights and the Iowa Veterans Home and played park and rec softball for Cecils. During these years, Annie made many friendships which she made a point to work at keeping. Annie was a good storyteller complete with facial expressions which was very endearing. In September 1987, she married Douglas Husak of Toledo. The two of them took many memorable trips together, enjoyed golf outings, and made a family with their daughter Tiffany and a little hairless dog named Teke. In 2013, Annie was diagnosed with colon cancer but not too long after got the exciting news she would become a grandmother (little Opal is still on the way). Annie had a bucket list she started working on which included a little red BMW convertible, getting a tattoo, and helping out her future granddaughter. She succeeded in accomplishing all of these. Annie was a Christian and her faith became evident in several entries on her Carepages site. She had over 1000 messages sent to her which speaks to the impact she had on people. Pre-deceasing her are her parents, Walter and Wilhelmina and Brother Harold, who died at birth. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Doug, her daughter Tiffany (Eli) Warden, brother, Peter (Carol) Henschke, sister Regina Hatch (blessed friend Mark Alexander), and many loving friends and extended family.
