Antonio Dan Tamburo, 74, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on the morning of Friday, July 1, 2016, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Funeral services for Dan will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at the Iowa Veterans Home Chapel with Angelia Doty officiating. There will be no public visitation prior to services. A private family burial will be held at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed in Dans name to his family. Antonio Daniel Tamburo was born on April 4, 1942, in Des Moines, Iowa. He was raised and educated in the Des Moines County School District graduating from High School in Des Moines, Iowa. Following High School, Dan honorably served his Country enlisting in the United States Army. Dan was united in Marriage to Sherri Zeliadt in Des Moines, Iowa. The two later divorced, but from this union two children were born: Joseph and John. Dan was a hardworking man, owning and operating; Coney Island Restaurant for many years, he was the Area Manager for McDonalds for close to 10 years and most recently he was employed at the YMCA in Des Moines. Dan had a passion for reading, especially military books. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Joseph and John Tamburo; grandchildren: Owen Maudlin, Bella Tamburo and Griffin Tamburo. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Connie.
