Arianna Rayne Colene Surber, age 3 years 2 months and 10 days, gained her wings on Thursday, September 12, 2017. Born on July 2, 2014; she was the daughter of DaVeena Surber and Codey Briley at the Wayne County Hospital in Corydon, Iowa. She was her mommys miracle baby and she brought much joy and light to her family and everyone she met. Arianna loved to play and have fun with her cousins. She loved cartoons and her favorite was the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. She loved riding on the 4 wheeler, climbing and jumping off of anything and everything, and was a daredevil, never fearing trying anything new. She was a very loving child who never liked to see anyone else upset or hurting. Her favorite songs were the Happy Birthday song, which she sang as Happy Day, Happy Day, and she also loved the song by Queen, We Will Rock You. Her cousin Emma would play it for her all the time and she would jump around dancing and singing, we will, we will. Although Arianna was only here for a short time, she has left her mark on the world. Her heart continues to beat as she saved four lives by being an organ donor. Her heart saved a 6-year-old boy, liver to a 7-year-old girl, 5-year-old boy her small intestines, and a 56-year-old woman received her kidneys. Arianna is a super hero life saver. Shes an angel who forever and always will live in our hearts and bring us smiles from her eternal lights. God Bless the Children. Arianna is survived by her parents, DaVeena and Codey of State Center; grandparents Mike and Stephanie Phelps of State Center; grandmother Wanda Jackson of Davenport, IA; grandfather Melvin Collis of Centerville, IA; great-grandparents Don and Sharon Phelps of Mystic, IA; great-grandmother Joan Jackson-Goben of Seymour, IA. She is also survived by her uncles, Jake Surber and Joel Phelps of State Center; aunt Salenea Phelps and uncle Charles Osgood, both of Albion; aunts and uncles, Uncle Mike Phelps and Aunt Sammi Phelps of Centerville, Mike (Evy) Collis of Centerville, Jeremy Collis and Melvin Collis, Jr. of Centerville, Tina Collis (David) Boley of Centerville, Uncle Verl Briley of Newton, and Uncle Michael Briley of Minnesota. She is also survived by numerous cousins, but was especially close to Emma and Aubree and their little brother Chase, who she played with almost daily for the past year; and many great aunts and great uncles and extended family. In death Arianna joins great-grandparents, Clyde and Helen Surber; great uncle James Surber; great-grandparents, Maryann and Richard Collis; and her great-grandfather Gerald Goben. She was baptized on Sunday, September 3, 2017 and we know God is holding her. Her spirit is free to play and be happy. She will forever shine in our hearts and our eyes until we meet again. Funeral services for Arianna will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in State Center, with Pastor Mike Maddick officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2017 also at the church. Because she saved lives as an organ donor and her favorite color was green, the family asks that everyone wear something green in memory of Arianna.
