Arlene C. Swenson

Arlene Catherine Swenson, 64, of Rural Tama, Iowa passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Sunday, October 26, 2025.

Arlene was born on April 24th, 1961, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. She shared 34 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Donnie Swenson, cherishing every moment of the life they built together.

Arlene had a love for nature and could often be found in her garden, surrounded by the flowers she so carefully tended. She had a special gift for creating beautiful floral arrangements. One of her greatest joys was feeding the birds and watching the hummingbirds visit her yard, their gentle presence bringing her peace and happiness. Arlene was also a creative soul who loved sewing and wood crafting, always finding joy in making things by hand.

Arlene cherished the simple joys in life, especially spending time playing cards with her best friend, Rhonda, sharing laughter and friendship that meant the world to her.

She is survived by her husband, Donnie Swenson, her sons, Jeremy Mullis, Greg Mullis and Craig Mullis, brother Ian Ramsay and sister-in-law Darlyne Swenson and her wife, Candi and many loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Donald Trey Swenson.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses at Grinnell Regional Hospital, who cared for her with such compassion and dignity.
