Arnold L. "Rick" Frederickson

Arnold L. “Rick” Frederickson, 93, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Arnold L (Rick) Frederickson was born on May 9, 1926 in Marshalltown to Arnold C. and Opal (Slamal) Frederickson.He married Patricia Steinmayer on September 21, 1947 at the Baptist Temple in Marshalltown.He was a life member of the First Marine Division Association and the China Marine Association, a life member and past commander of the American Legion Post #46, member of Voiture #568 – 40/8 in Marshalltown, a life member of the Elks Lodge #312, life member of the Marshalltown Men’s Bowling Association, 50 year member of Lodge #108 Masons, Royal Arch Masons #38 RAM, King Solomon Council #20 R&SM, St. Aldemar Commandry #30 K.T., long time member and past chairman of the Marshalltown Men’s Golf Association. Surviving are his two children, Terry D. Frederickson of Marshalltown and Lucinda (Cindy) A. Frederickson of Ames; sister, Mrs. Ray (Kay) Yandell of Marshalltown; two nieces and their families. Rick loved gardening, golfing and bowling.  He received his education in Marshalltown and graduated from Marshalltown High School.He was a Marine Corps Veteran of World War II and Korea, serving in the South Pacific and Northern China.  Following his return from military duty, he went to work for Iowa Electric Light & Power Company where he worked for 15 years.  He was the first manager of Totem Bowl following its completion in 1961 and then joined the sales department of Lennox Industries Inc, where he retired from in 1987. In death he rejoins his wife, Pat, who died in December 2010 and his parents.
