Audrey Rober, age 86 of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away in the afternoon on Saturday, December 21, 2025 at Unity Point Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Services for Audrey will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025 beginning at 2:00 P.M. at Elim Lutheran Church. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Elim Lutheran Church. Memorials in Audrey’s name may directed to the Emergency Food Box in Marshalltown. Audrey Marilyn Wogen was born on March 7, 1939 in Albert Lea, Minnesota. She was the oldest of eight children born to Milford and Olive (Sime) Wogen. Audrey grew up in Scarville, Iowa. She attended her early years of school through her junior year when Scarville High School closed. She finished her senior year at Kiester High School in Kiester, Minnesota graduating in 1957. Audrey furthered her education at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa where she worked part time in the registrar’s office. It was at Luther College where she met the love of her life, Norlin Rober.

The two were married on September 1, 1961 in Decorah, Iowa. She finished her school graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in the spring of 1962. They had two children together, Paul and Aline. In 1965, Audrey and Norlin moved to Marshalltown, Iowa where they would make their forever home. Audrey began working for Dr. Terry’s veterinary clinic in 1973. She left to go work for First Presbyterian Church where she worked as their friendly secretary until retiring in 2001. She was a member of Elim Lutheran Church in Marshalltown.

Within the church, Audrey took part in various organizations over the years and participated in the church choir. In her free time, Audrey enjoyed working on cryptic crossword puzzles, dabbled in photography alongside Norlin, knitting, and reading. In her younger years she enjoyed gardening and would often get the younger neighborhood children to help her with harvesting the beans and peas, participated in Marshalltown Community College faculty groups alongside Norlin and baking bread. She had a generous heart and was faithful in donating blood to help others. She had donated almost 10 gallons over the years. She enjoyed being a mother over everything else and was proud to be able to care for her family.

Those left to remember and cherish her memory are her children, Paul Rober of Marshalltown and Aline Rober of Pennsylvania; her siblings, Warren (Sherry) Wogen of North Carolina, Lorene (Paul) Hanson of Minnesota, Donna (Steve) Carolus of Minnesota along with her sister-in-law, Colleen Wogen of Minnesota; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Norlin; her parents, Milford and Olive Wogen; and siblings, Lynn (Lois) Wogen, Maynard Wogen, Nylene Wogen and Luann Wogen.
