Avery Wesley Gile age 94, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Sunday, February 10th at Grandview Height in Marshalltown, Iowa. To honor his wishes, no services will be held. Phone # 641-844-1234 Avery Gile was born in Marshall County on June 28, 1924 to Albert Wesley and Eleanore (Hayne) Gile. He went to school in La Moille and was given the nickname “Lone Ranger” since he was the only boy out of 13 students. Avery served in the Navy and in World War II. He was known to have a strong work ethic and worked as a carpenter and later owned and operated Gile Gersdorf Co. He was a member of Senior Citizens, American Legion, and of the VFW. Avery enjoyed collecting coins, stamps and guns. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting and went to Canada to fish. Left to celebrate his life is his sister: Virginia Kelley of Marshalltown, IA, nieces and nephews, special friend: Lois Drummer of Marshalltown, and many other friends. Avery was preceded in death by his parents, a sister: Ilda Kay, and a brother: William Gile
