Avondell Vonnie Lynch, 80, formerly of Green Mountain, now residing at the Grandview Heights Rehab and Care Center in Marshalltown, died there Wednesday, February 16, 2011.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, February 20, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Burial will take place at the Chapel Hill Cemetery near Gladbrook. Visitation for Vonnie will be held from 5:00 PM 7:00 PM, Saturday, February 19, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home where Vonnies family will be present to greet friends. Memorial contributions may be directed in Vonnies name to the Chapel Church in rural Gladbrook. For further information or to send a condolence please visit www.mitchellfh.com or call (641) 844-1234.Vonnie was born May 4, 1930, in Renwick, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Laura (Bosworth) Balmer Sr. She graduated from the Union High School and on August 1, 1949, Vonnie married Robert Lynch at the Chapel Church in rural Gladbrook. Following their marriage Vonnie and Robert made their home on their family farm in Green Mountain for several years before their retirement in 1977. Vonnie and Bob moved to Marshalltown in 1980. Vonnie enjoyed making crafts, bowling, word searches, playing cards and watching college basketball and football on television. Vonnie and Bob also loved to go camping and spent several winters in Mesa, Arizona. She was a member of the Chapel Church in Gladbrook and the LCA group.Vonnie is survived by her children: Roberta (Jerry) Hellie of Mankato, Minnesota, David Lynch of Marshalltown, Dennis (LeAnn) Lynch of Conrad, and Annette (Dennis) Lemker of Haverhill; her 10 grandchildren: Jeffrey Hellie, Angela Michel, Emily Rash, Heather Craighton, Stacey Bacigalupo, Nicole Lynch, Megan Shultz, Ryan Lemker, and Brett Lemker, her 9 great-grandchildren: Jordan, Carter, Gabrielle, Cole, Skylar, Caden, Maddox, Parker and Sydney, her brother Russ (Marilyn) Balmer of Green Mountain, her sisters Marion Bartleson of Clear Lake and Mildred (Robert) Wilkens of Marshalltown, her half-brothers: Carl (Fern) Balmer of Marshalltown and Harold Balmer of Marshalltown, her half-sister Dorothy Lunsford of California, her step-sister-in-laws: Lorrane Bartleson of Clear Lake and Lenora Bartleson of Marshalltown, her step-brother-in-law Bob (Elayne) Campbell of Scottsdale, Arizona and her step-sister-in-law Rosella Campbell of Minneapolis, Minnesota.Vonnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert her grandson Christopher, her sister Neva Bendlage, and her step-brothers: Ben and Lyle Bartleson.
