Barbara May Aikin, 81, of Marshalltown, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023 at UnityPoint Health-Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Barbara Elliott was born on December 10, 1941 in Albion. She was the daughter of Richard and Nadean (Bixby) Elliott. Barb was a graduate from Albion High School. On December 19, 1959, Barb was united in marriage to Keith Aikin in Collins, Iowa. Barb had previously been a homemaker and ran an at home daycare. Being a foster parent to Barb was very important to her. She took in numerous foster children over the years. Barb was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Marshalltown.
Barbara is survived by her children: Melody (Michael) Ferguson, Deanna (Lee) Krukow, Robert (Monica) Aikin, Troy Aikin and Jake Morton. Grandchildren: Katlyn Aikin, Micaiah Krukow, Noah Krukow, Jessica Cox and Adrianna Goken. She is also survived by her brother: Ron Elliott.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband: Keith; daughter: Nancy Carmer; parents: Richard and Nadean; brother, Thomas Raisbeck Jr. and sister, Pat Fisher.
