Barbara Hulsizer, 81, of Marshalltown, passed away at Southridge Nursing and Rehab Center, surround by her family.Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2011 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. Phone 641-844-1234.Barbara Jean Devick was born on January 28, 1930 in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was the daughter of Glen and Elvira (Mahlow) Devick. She attended school in the area of her birth graduating from High School in the Dunbar area. Barbara married Howard Hulsizer on April 5, 1954 in Hermandez, Mississippi. After they married they lived in Marshalltown. Barb enjoyed being a homemaker, always loved being around her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed fishing in Minnesota and gardening. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Patty (Jim) Gibson of Marshalltown, Mike (Jane) Hulsizer of Haverhill, Iowa, David Hulsizer of Marshalltown, Nancy Hulsizer of Marshalltown, nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.Barbara will rejoin in heaven her daughter, Debra Hulsizer, her husband Howard and her mother Elvira.
