Barbara Lee (Kluck) Nodland, age 74, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on the morning of December 27, 2025 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Services for Barbara will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 beginning at 11:00 A.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. A visitation for family and friends will take place one hour prior to services. She will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. Memorials in Barbara’s name may be directed to the family for a later designation. Barbara Kluck was born April 10, 1951 in Ames, Iowa. She was the middle of five children born to Elmer and Marguerite “Margie” (Roberts) Kluck. Barbara grew up in Marshalltown, Iowa where she also attended school graduating in 1969. She furthered her education at Marshalltown Community College.
Barbara had one son, Douglas. She worked for the Department of Human Services as an income maintenance worker. Upon her retirement, she was a recipient of an award that was presented to her by Governor Branstad. On May 16, 1998, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Tom Nodland. Over the years, they made many memories together through vacations with her favorite places being New York, Chicago and New Mexico. They also liked to go to their cabin in Eldora.
Barbara loved crafting. She had a special knack for making necklaces and cards. Her favorite holiday was always Christmas and she always looked forward to decorating. In her younger years, she enjoyed singing and dancing, cooking, and looked forward to spring when she could plant her flower gardens. She was loved by many and will be forever known by her comical and can-do attitude.
Those left to remember and cherish her memory are her husband of 27 years, Tom Nodland; her son, Douglas (Jane) Kahler; grandchildren, Alex and Valerie Kahler; her siblings, Terry (Jan) Kluck, Anita Mayer and Patrick (Julie) Kluck along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Marguerite Kluck; her sister, Nancy Kluck; and brother-in-law, Larry Mayer.
