Barbara Joanne (Bueghly) Price

Barbara Joanne (Bueghly) Price, 69, of Marshalltown, died Thursday evening, January 4th , while under the care of Iowa Hospice. Her death came peacefully with her family at her side. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 8th, at the Hope United Methodist Church with Pastor Scott Lothe officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Bethel Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home Sunday evening from 3-5:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family. Born on October 11th, 1937 in Marshalltown, Iowa, she was the daughter of C. Laverne and Vivian Sarah (Smith) Bueghly. In 1955, she graduated from the Marshalltown High and went on to graduate from the Evangelical School of Nursing in 1958. On April 27th, 1958, in Marshalltown, she was united in marriage to Lawrence James Price of Albion, Iowa. He passed away on July 18th, 1990. They resided in Marshalltown all of their married lives. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at the Marshalltown Hospital and the Villa del Sol Care Center retiring in 1997. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her loving grandchildren, going to band concerts, working on geneology and watching ball games. She was an avid fan of the Cubs and the Dallas Cowboys. Barbara was a Founding Member of the Hope United Methodist Church, a member of Iowa Geneology, South Central Iowa Geneology, Daughters of American Revolution and an Evangelical Hospital Alumni. Left to mourn her loss are her three loving children: Douglas (Leigh) Price of LeGrand, Kelly (Michael) Whitmore of LeGrand, Timothy (Tricia) Price of Marshalltown, Eleven grandchildren: Brynn, Kylie, Ambria, Jamie and Sierra Price, Ryan, Alyssa and Chelsea Whitmore, Sabrina, Micaela and Nicolas Price, four step-grandchildren Cody Anderson, Tiffany Floyd and Jeremiah and Steven Lund, one great-granddaughter Shalayia and one sister Bonita Johannsen of Traer, Iowa. In death she has rejoined her loving husband Lawrence, her parents, a brother, Robert Bueghly and a nephew David Bueghly.
