Barbara Ann Strickler, 67, of Marshalltown, died Tuesday October 19, 2010, at State Center Nursing and Rehab in State Center.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 25, 2010, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. She was the daughter of Winfred and Olive (Brinegar) Matherly. She attended Centerville Schools, graduating with the class of 1961. On June 18, 1961, she was united in marriage to Raymond Eugene "Gene" Strickler in Centerville, Iowa. She had lived in Marshalltown most of her life. She had been employed most recently at Kmart in Marshalltown. First and foremost she enjoyed her family, and she also enjoyed quilting, crocheting, embroidery and scrap booking.Left to cherish Barbs memory are her children: Carrie (Mike) Osborn of Marshalltown, Kevin Strickler of Marshalltown, Stephen Strickler of Marshalltown, Nanci (Chris) Cowman of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and Theresa (Brian) Ozono of Marshalltown; 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, her siblings: James (Lynnece) Matherly of Marshalltown, Linda (Arlon) Hickman of Marshalltown, Dennis (Barbara) Matherly of Ohio, Mark (Tammy) Matherly of Des Moines, Karen Matherly of Centerville and Kathy (Greg) McDanel of Centerville.She was preceded in death by her parents: Winfred and Olive, husband Gene, two sisters: Dorothy Duncan and Donna Chandler and a daughter at birth, Lorrie Ann.
