Mr. Barry Murray, 68, of Marshalltown, died early Wednesday morning, October 8th, at the MMSC while in their care, his loving family and the Iowa River Hospice.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 13th, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Marshalltown with Pastor Gregg Davison officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery with flag presentation by the American Legion Frank Lewis Glick Post #46. Visitation will be 2-4:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home, 1209 Iowa Avenue West, Marshalltown . For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Ph 641-844-1234.Born on November 8, 1939, in Perry, Iowa, he was the son of Clarence and Evelyn (Wagner) Murray. He graduated from the Perry High School in 1957. In the early 1960s, he served our country honorably in the United States Army.Mr. Murray was employed with NCR (National Cash Register) for 33 years and was active in rental properties and home restoration. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed the outdoors, sports, rebuilding homes, and treasured his family. He led by example and was kind, compassionate and easy going. Barry also was a home and commercial real estate appraiser for Wobeter Appraisal in Toledo.On December 26th, 1965, in Des Moines, he was united in marriage to Eileen Hansen. They have made their home in Marshalltown since 1966.Left to cherish his memory is Eileen, his loving wife of 42 years, three children: Mike (Linda) Murray of Muskego, Wisconsin and their children Ryan, Evan and Kaelyn; Greg (Holly) Murray of Bettendorf, and Janna (Jason) Clement of Clearwater, FL., his sister Marlys Bedoya of Downey, CA, father and mother-in-law Norman and LaVonne Hansen of Hampton, Iowa, sisters-in-law Norma Jean Caruth of Hollister, MO, Patty Voy of Elma, Iowa, and brother-in-law Larry Hansen of Hampton, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In death he has rejoined his parents.
