Bary Carl, 70, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at his home with his loving family by his side. Funeral services for Bary will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2014, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Public visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home where his family will be present to greet friends. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Bary and his family. Bary Carl was born on June 24, 1943, in Jefferson, Iowa, the son of Gordon and Berea (Sill) Carl. He was raised and educated in the Paton school district graduating from Paton High School in 1961. After high school Bary attended Iowa State University. Bary was united in marriage to Sandy Crouch on June 14, 1964, in Beaver, Iowa. From this union three children were born; Chris, Todd and Brad. Bary was employed for 33 years as an HR Director at Swift & Company. Most recently, he was a dealer at Mesquaki casino in Tama. Bary was a member and a past President of the Marshalltown RC Flyers and also taught a photo class at the Marshalltown Community College for 15 years. Bary had a passion for technology, especially apple products. He loved his computers, model airplanes and photography. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Sandy Carl; children: Chris Carl, Todd (Polly) Carl and Brad (Melissa) Carl; grandchildren: Blaine, Aaron, Jorge, Mara, Austin and Casey; two sisters: Donea Shane and Bryce (Ted) Bear. He is preceded in death by his parents.
