Bea Lebuda

September 10, 1933 — November 19, 2022

Beatrice “Bea” Ann Lebuda entered into eternal life on November 19th, 2022, at Bickford of Marshalltown, surrounded by her family and in the care of Bickford staff and Iowa River Hospice.

A celebration of Bea’s life will be held on Saturday, December 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. A visitation will take place one hour prior beginning at 10:00 a.m. For online condolences or questions, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Ph. 641-844-1234.

Bea was born on September 10th, 1933, in Hammond, Wisconsin to George and Helen (Vier) Omann. She married her husband of nearly 35 years, Leon J. Lebuda, on September 8th, 1956, in St. Paul, Minnesota. They had one daughter, Lacinda.

Bea lived her life in service to others, first as a nurse, and next as a partner with Leon in his pastoral ministries across Iowa. After Leon’s passing in 1991, she moved to Marshalltown and fulfilled her own calling as a Commissioned Lay Pastor for nearly 20 years, most of which were at the Albion Presbyterian Church. Beyond her pastoral duties, Bea enjoyed serving her community through various volunteer endeavors. Developing meaningful relationships was truly important to Bea; she cherished time spent celebrating others’ joys, supporting people in times of need, and offering comfort in times of sorrow. She especially treasured time with her family.

Bea will live on in the hearts of her daughter and son-in-law, Lacinda and Dan Gillen, granddaughters Christina and Alyssa Gillen, sisters Kay Braun, Edna Brown, and Susan Nau, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In eternal life, she joins her dear husband, Leon; parents George and Helen; brother, Richard, in infancy; sister, Marge Mittelstadt; brothers-in-law Jerry Mittelstadt, Vern Brown, Thomas Nau, and Herb Braun, as well as other beloved extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated in Bea’s name to: The Christmas Joy Offering to support Presbyterian Church workers in their time of need (https://specialofferings.pcusa.org/offering/christmas-joy/), the Albion Presbyterian Church, or Iowa River Hospice.
