Benjamin "Benny" Krull

Master Angler Benjamin “Benny” Krull, 29, of Marshalltown, formerly of Garwin, is at his forever fishing hole after his untimely passing on Friday, May 14, 2021. Funeral services for Benny will be held on Thursday, May 20 at 11:00 A.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. A visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 19 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, as well as prior to the service beginning at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday. Benjamin Dwayne Krull came into this world on December 20, 1991 in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was one of seven children blessed to Gayle and Cynthia “Cindy” (Kellogg) Krull. Growing up in Garwin, he loved playing all sports and graduated from Green Mountain Garwin High School in 2010. Benny went on to attend Wartburg College, where he continued playing football and studied fitness training. He found his niche working at Menards as a Department Manager in the flooring department, where he was a natural leader. When Benny wasn’t hard at work, he was fishing. He lived and breathed fishing and loved spending time in the great outdoors. He participated in many tournaments, winning awards for catfish angling and earning the title of “Master Angler.” He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Benny had a welcoming personality, an uncanny ability to make others feel comfortable and great sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by many. Those left to cherish his memory are his parents: Gayle and Cindy Krull of Gladbrook; siblings: Chris (Marci) Krull, Sara (Camden) Himes, Matthew (Melinda) Krull, Kyle (Krysti) Krull and Tyler Krull; nieces and nephews: Madison Krull, Zachary Krull, Paden (Tabitha) Himes, Wyatt Himes, Gabrielle Himes, Blaze Krull, Blake Krull, Mattox Krull and Jasper Krull; his grandmother: Marlene Kellogg and his girlfriend, Wendy Lane. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his faithful and energetic lab, Penny. In death, Benny is reunited with his brother, Bobby Krull; three of his grandparents; his uncle, Randy Kellogg; cousin, Jeremy Krull and his nephew, Isaiah Eilander.
