Bernadine Miller, 89, of Lincoln, Nebraska, former longtime Green Mountain resident, died Sunday, October 2, 2011 in Lincoln, Nebraska.Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Phone 641-844-1234.Born Bernadine Hastie on December 21, 1921, in Des Moines, she was the daughter of Warren and Clara Mae (Reid) Hastie. She received her education in the area of her birth.On January 19, 1941, in Colo, Iowa, she was united in marriage to Raymond Miller. They made their home in Green Mountain where they owned and operated the Ray Miller Repair and she did the bookkeeping. Mrs. Miller was a member of the Green Mountain UCC and the Womens Fellowship. In 2004 Bernadine moved to The Burke Plaza in Lincoln , Nebraska.Bernadine loved to crochet, travel to flea markets, doing word searches and the hospitality she shared. They always had the coffee on and cookies for friends at the shop. She enjoyed visiting.Left to cherish her memory of nearly 90 years are her three children: Shirley (Larry) Hayne of Lincoln, NE, Betty Perry and Raymond (Marilyn) Miller all of Marshalltown, her grandchildren: Christine, Stephanie, Lori, Lisa, Mike, Kimi, Cindy and David, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and her brother, Luellen (Vivian) Hastie of Des Moines and several nieces and nephews.In death, she rejoined her parents, husband, Raymond who died in 1998 and son, Bobby Lee who died in 1978.
