Berniece F. (Arlyn) Mitchell, 80, of Marshalltown, was called home to Jesus on the afternoon of Friday, April 26th, 2013, at the Iowa River Hospice Home with her family at her side. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 30th, at St. Henry Catholic Church with Fr. Don Czapla officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. Monday at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service. Memorials may be directed to her family. Born Berniece Frances Weuve on February 18th, 1933, in Story County, Iowa, she was the first daughter born to Harold and Lucille (Roche) Weuve, Sr. She graduated from the Clemons High Schools Class of 1951. On January 10th, 1956, in St. Anthony, she was united in marriage to Arlyn Mitchell. They made their home in Marshalltown where she was employed at Fisher Controls and later sold Fuller Brush to stay at home and raise their four children. Mrs. Mitchell was a faithful member of St. Henrys Parish in Marshalltown and will be fondly remembered for her love of faith, family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are Arlyn, her loving husband of 56 years, her children and their families- son Mark (Leigh Bauder) Mitchell, and her children Nicole and Emmett, of Marshalltown, Brandon Mitchell and his children Carey and Brooklyn Mitchell of Green Mountain, Lance (Echo) Mitchell and their children Jasmine Terrell, Zoe Terrell and Ryan Mitchell of Liscomb, Jared Mitchell (Corey Mendelsohn) of Manhattan Beach, CA; daughter Deatra (Troy) Buchholz of Waverly, Iowa; and daughter Caleen (Mark) Wieland and their children Alicia and Daniel Wieland of Marshalltown. Also surviving are her sister Charleen Bryan of Marshalltown and brother Dwayne (Mary Lou) Weuve of Des Moines and many nieces and nephews. In death, Berniece rejoined her infant daughter Danita, her father Harold Sr. and mother Lucille, her brother Harold Weuve and her daughter-in-law Teresa Hunt Mitchell.
