Bertha "June" Forman

Bertha “June” Forman, age 86, of Grand Prairie, Texas, formerly of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away Monday, April 10, 2023.

Services for June will take place on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 1:30 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with a visitation beginning at 12:30 P.M. Born June 1, 1936 in Garwin, Iowa, she was the daughter of Andrew and Helen (Mishler) Peshel. She grew up in Albion, Iowa and attended school in Liscomb. June met the love of her life, George Forman, and they were united in marriage in September of 1957. They made their home in Marshalltown, where they raised their two daughters.

She worked for Marshalltown Manufacturing for many years and later Kwik Star at South Third Ave and Anson Street, where she retired. June adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with family. She collected elephant figurines and loved flowers and gardening in her younger years. June looked forward to getting pampered and getting her nails done every two weeks with her daughter, Tammie. She got bolder with her color choices each time.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Tammie (Terry) Thompson of Grand Prairie, TX; grandchildren: Andy (Margaret) Thompson of Joshua, TX, Dustin (Brittney) Thompson of Thomasville, AL, Shaness (Doug) Hart, Jeffery Harrell II, Jadi Peck and Jaci (Ryan) May, all of Iowa; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; siblings: Norma Gummert of Marshalltown, IA, Dave (Hollie) Peshel of Ankeny, IA and Jerry Dean Peshel of Albion, IA and numerous nieces and nephews.

In eternal life, June is reunited with her beloved husband, George; her oldest daughter, Lynn Harrell, her parents, three brothers: Danny Peshel, Darrell and Dennis Peshel.
