Betty Billick

Betty Joan Billick, 79, of Marshalltown, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services for Betty will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family. Betty Bohlender was born on January 23, 1935 to Harold and Thelma Lundstrom Bohlender in Guthrie Center, Iowa. Betty was educated in the Guthrie Center school district. On May 26, 1957; Betty was united in marriage to Larry Billick in Des Moines. Betty had been previously employed in insurance, in healthcare and as a homemaker caring for her five daughters and husband. Betty enjoyed the time with her dogs and when she and Larry would vacation in the winter down in Texas. Left to cherish Bettys memory is her husband of 57 years; Larry. Children: Regina Jean (Phillip) Smithhart of Albion, Barbara (Don Bracy) Waltemeyer of Marshalltown, Kimberly Carpenter of Smyrna, Georgia, Leigh (Ben Duff) Price of Sabula, Iowa and Lynn (Mike) Carder of Des Moines. Twelve grandchildren. Eighteen great grandchildren. Siblings: Charles (Karen) Bohlender of Kansas, Jim (Lynda) Bohlender of Guthrie Center, Jack (Susie) Bohlender of Norwalk and Linda (Mike) Wolfe of Arizona. Betty is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her dog Jake. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, son in law Dwayne Waltemeyer and nephew Joey Bohlender.
