Betty Buffington

Betty Buffington 90, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Southridge Nursing and Rehab Center in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2013, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Betty and her family. Phone 641-844-1234. Betty Moore was born in Hardin County on June 21, 1922; she was the daughter of Hibbard and Bessie (Cobb) Moore. Betty attended school in the Steamboat Rock Community School District graduating with the class of 1939. On November 11, 1946, Betty was united in marriage to Ilo (Bud) Henry Buffington in Marshalltown, Iowa where they had made their home their entire married lives. Betty loved being a homemaker and mother; she also worked at Fisher Controls in the office until her retirement. She loved to do all kinds of crafts and belonged to the YMCA Crafters Club. Betty loved to cook and will be remembered as a good cook, a very kind hearted person and loved to help others. She and Ilo enjoyed traveling. Left to cherish her memory is her son; Kent(Paige) Buffington of Denver, Colorado, sister -in-laws; Alberta Birchard, Lavonne Baker, Annalee Buffington and Lucille Buffington and a host of nieces and nephews. In death Betty rejoins her parents, Hibbard and Bessie, husband, Ilo( Bud), son, Craig and siblings, Maxine Trickey, Janet Baker and Hibbard Moore, brother-in-laws Vernie Jr. , Donnie and Richard.
