Betty Jane Henze, 81, of Marshalltown, died Thursday, September 20th, at her home while in care of her loving family and the Iowa River Hospice. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 24th, at the Liberty Baptist Church, 2205 South Center Street in Marshalltown with Pastor Randy Mason officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 1-3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Memorials may be directed to the Liberty Baptist Church, Iowa River Hospice or the Jonathan House Ministries in Sierra Leone. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Ph 844-1234.Born Betty Jane Ogden on Christmas Day of 1925 in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Matt and Elizabeth (Callahan) Ogden. She received her education in the area of her birth. She was first married to Robert H. Moore on March 17th, 1940. She later was united in marriage to Dale Henze on August 20th, 1959 in Marshalltown. They have resided all of their married lives in the Marshalltown area where she was employed at KIOWA, Curts Royal Blue, did waitressing and Fishers. She also was employed at Donnelly Manufacturing in Nevada. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Wal-Mart Coffee Club. Betty enjoyed her family, dancing, social activities, crosswords, scrabble, volunteering at the Southridge Nursing Home and being with relatives. Left to celebrate her life are her loving husband of 48 years, Dale, her children: Robert(Linda) Moore of Marshalltown, Janet (Stanley) Hatch of State Center, Dale Moore of Marshalltown, and Ron Moore of Tama, grandchildren: Andrea, Rebecca, Rochelle, Jean, Roger, Robin, James, Steven, Jeff and Lisa, 27 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. In death she has rejoined her parents, her four sisters and two brothers: Neva, Hazel, Beulah, Grace, Neil and Dale.
