Betty Lear

Betty L. Lear, 65, of Marshalltown, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2012 at the University of Iowa Medical Center. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Betty and her family. Betty Louise Carkhuff was born March 29, 1946; she was the daughter of Guy Carkhuff and Pearl (Dunink) Felton. She attended and later graduated from the Le Grand High School. Betty had worked at the Wal-Mart in Marshalltown. She enjoyed animals, her dogs, knitting and crocheting.She is survived by her mother, Pearl Felton of Marshalltown, and her brother, Dennis (Gloria) Carkhuff of Marshalltown.She is preceded in death by her father.
