Betty J. Miltenberger, 97, of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, formerly of Marshalltown, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023.
Services for Betty will take place on Saturday, April 15 at 10:30 A.M. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown with Pastor Terry Collins officiating. She will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery in Lamoille. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 9:30 A.M. Memorials may be directed to NewLife Church in Pleasant Hill. Betty Jane Miltenberger came to the world on March 24, 1926 in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was the eldest of two children born to William Earnest and Grace (Anderson) Ford. In her younger years, she enjoyed tap dancing and singing. Betty grew up in Marshalltown, graduating from Marshalltown High School in 1944. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Robert Miltenberger on December 26, 1944 in Seattle, Washington. The couple made their home in Lamoille, Iowa. Betty was a loving and dedicated wife and mother. She was a member of Lamoille Congregational Church, where she taught Sunday school and served as church secretary and later attended Center Street Baptist in Marshalltown. She enjoyed reading her Bible and was always very involved with Bible studies. Betty also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and Sudoku, Southern gospel music and going for walks. After Robert’s passing in 1987, Betty enjoyed traveling. She went on several trips with the Senior Center and liked collecting postcards from her travels.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons: Mike (Lisa) Miltenberger and Mark Miltenberger; grandchildren: Robert (Belinda) Miltenberger, Tammy (Jay) Fuller, Christina Kruzich, Todd (Andrea) Miltenberger, Natalie (Drew) Purcell, Bethany (Trief) Henze, Nathan (Stephanie) Miltenberger, Matthew Miltenberger, Laura Miltenberger, Christina Miltenberger, Jason Miltenberger, Sam Miltenberger and Gabe Miltenberger; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members.
In eternal life, Betty is reunited with her beloved husband, Robert; her sons: Robert, David and Tim Miltenberger; her parents, William Earnest and Grace Ford; her sisters: Dorothy LePoire and Jean Ford; and many other family members.
