Betty Warnell

Betty Warnell, 88, of Marshalltown, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Villa Del Sol Nursing Home in Marshalltown.The family will be holding a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Lamoille Congregational Church in Lamoille, Iowa. Phone 641-844-1234.Betty Mae McLeland was born on April 9, 1923 in Armstrong, Iowa; she was the daughter of Robert and Audrey (Rogers). The family later relocated to Albion where Betty attended school and later moved to Marshalltown until her passing. Betty served our country honorably in the Womens Army Air Force from 1943 until 1945. She loved fishing, enjoyed garage sales, flea markets and resale shops. Betty was a member of the American Legion, Moose and Elks Lodge.Left to cherish Bettys memory are her daughters: Teri Payne of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jan Zatovich of Marshalltown, Iowa, her sister Sandra Swanson of Marshalltown, her brother Bill McLeland of Lacey,Washington,7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clay and a daughter Joy.
