Beulah Kunc

Beulah Josephine Kunc, 84, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2014, at Riverside Manor in Ames. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. Beulah Phelps was born on June 21, 1929 to William and Beulah Chown Phelps in Belle Plaine, Iowa. Her first marriage was to Richard Martin until they separated. She later married Bill Kunc in Las Vegas. Beulah babysat many children in her early years. She later was a house keeper at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center for 26 years until her retirement. Beulah enjoyed word search puzzles, collecting stuffed cats, watching old black and white movies and even enjoyed watching WWE Wrestling. Most of all; Beulah was a very good people person and enjoyed her family. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Sue Darling of Marshalltown. Grandchildren: Tanya (Andy) Sommerlot of Marshalltown. Great grandchildren: Faith Sommerlot. Siblings: Margaret Heathcote of Ames and Lucille Dolan of Vinton. Nieces: Marie (Gib Smith) Lynch of Ames and Marilyn (Glenn) Harris of Nevada and nephew Lee Griggs of Texas. She is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews. Beulah is preceded in death by her parents, first husband; Richard, and her second husband Bill and thirteen siblings.
