Bev Peshel

Beverly Joyce Peshel, 73, of Garwin, passed away on Monday May 19, 2014, at home, under the care of the Cedar Valley Hospice. Funeral services for Bev will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2014, at the Garwin United Methodist Church in Garwin. Public visitation will be held on Thursday May 22, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family. She was the daughter of Max and Evelyn (Bohnsack) Welton. She graduated from Garwin High School in 1959. On June 27, 1959, Bev was united in marriage to Larry Peshel at the Carlton Brothern Church south of Garwin. They resided in Garwin for most of their married life. Bev worked for Cooper Manufacturing for 43 years, retiring in 2007. Bev loved to sing with Larry in the numerous country bands they were in. She loved to attend car shows and travel. Most importantly; she loved the time with her grandchildren playing cards and will be greatly missed by her family. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 54 years, Larry. Children: Jeff Peshel of Kellogg, Jodi Rowe of Gladbrook, and Ricky (Patricia) Peshel of Coeur D Alene, Idaho. Grandchildren: Jolene Sager, Linda (Mike) Thompson, Robert Sager, Richard Sager, Catie (Brandon) Dobrovolsky, Naleaha (David) Sharpe, Rick Peshel, Jennah Peshel and Stephanie Hill. Great grandchildren: Kaylee, Carson, Carly, Kippin, Emrie, and Archer; along with siblings: Dean (Anna) Welton, Roger (Linda) Welton, and Debbie Keck-Welton. Bev was preceded in death by her parents; a son in law, Ed Rowe; and granddaughter, Nicole Gilliland.
