Beverly Jane Davis

Beverly J. Bev Davis, 72, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2013, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Iowa River Hospice in Marshalltown. Born Beverly Jane Hines on January 16th, 1941, in Marshalltown, Iowa, she was the daughter of Donovan and Margaret (Bryant) Hines. She graduated from the Montour High Schools Class of 1958. On May 26th, 1962, she was united in marriage to Ron Davis at the Living Faith United Methodist Church in Montour. They made their home in Marshalltown where she was employed at Fisher Controls for 22 years but most importantly took on the role of wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church and enjoyed trips to the casino, Iowa Basketball, football and her grandkids sporting activities. She treasured her family and will be missed by all of them. Left to cherish her memory are Ron, her loving husband of 51 years, her son Trent Davis, daughter Teresa (Anthony) Mattern, her brother Jim (Gretchen) Hines and grandchildren- Courtney Thogersen, Jens Thogersen, Kallie Davis, Cole Davis, and step-grandchildren Matthew Mattern, Joseph Mattern and Timothy Mattern as well as many friends. In death, Bev rejoined her parents and sister, Patricia Oetker.
