Beverly (Johnson) Swaim

Beverly A. Swaim, age 84, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at her home under the care of Iowa River Hospice.

Per Beverly and her family, cremation rites will be accorded. No formal services have been scheduled at this time. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation. Beverly Ann (Johnson) Swaim was born July 25, 1940, in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was the daughter of George and Fern (Sears) Johnson. Beverly attended school in Marshalltown and on September 16, 1957, she married the love of her life, Larry Gene Swaim in Iowa City. They both lived in Iowa City, then Marshalltown, and finally retired to Arizona. During her working career, Beverly was a CNA, and she worked in the administration department for Villa del Sol for 25 years. She was also a Sunday school teacher at the Assembly of God Church. During her free time, Beverly enjoyed baking, gardening, crafting, embroidering, planting her favorite flowers, the “Red Geraniums”, but most importantly she loved helping others.

She is survived by her husband Larry Gene Swaim; her four children: Rick (Deb) Swaim of Greenbrier, AR, Greg (Kathy) Swaim of Marshalltown, IA, Randy (Cindy) Swaim of Columbia, SC, and Steve (Kara) Swaim of Marshalltown, IA; her eight grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and 9 nieces and nephews.

Beverly is preceded in death by her parents George and Fern; her son Tim Swaim; her brother John Johnson; and her sisters: Pam Peterson and Marcella Vogt.
