Beverly Loughry

Beverly “Bev” Loughry, 89, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on the morning of Friday, November 13, 2020 at Southridge Specialty Care in Marshalltown. Beverly JoAnne Stevenson was born July 8, 1931 to parents Elmer and Dorothy (Coats) Stevenson in Moline, Illinois. She was the third child born. In her early years, Bev and her family moved to the Colfax area. She attended school at Colfax High School. On July 30, 1970, she was united in marriage to the love of her life Dean Laughry at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. After marriage the two then called Marshalltown their home. The two began a family together raising 6 children. Bev was devoted to her family. In her free time, Bev loved to do volunteer work for numerous organizations. She was also an avid card game player, watcher of game shows with her favorite being Jeopardy, working on hook latch projects and working on crossword puzzles. Her favorite hobby was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Melody (LaNel Nelson) Dunn, Joyce (Danny Walters) Anderson and Carolina Lang, nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and her siblings Max Stevenson, Margaret Pruitt, and Harry Stevenson. She was preceded in death by her husband Dean, her children, Charlotte, Dawn, and Edward, her siblings, John and Richard Stevenson and her parents, Elmer and Dorothy Stevenson.
