Born on June 28, 1936, in Mount Ayr, Iowa, Beverly Elaine (Gaule) Monk was the cherished daughter of Clifford and Leota (Knight) Gaule. On January 30, 1953, she married her lifelong partner, Ronald Edward Monk, in Clearfield, Iowa. Together, they welcomed six sons and two daughters. Beverly worked at the Iowa Veterans Home, dedicating many years as a housekeeping supervisor before retiring. Beverly spent many years as a Cub Scout leader, lovingly known as the den mother to her pack. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, chatting on the phone, and doing crafts. Beverly especially loved spending time remodeling her home and going on car rides with her husband.

She is lovingly survived by her five children: Rodney (Carol) Monk of Marshalltown; Rocky (Lisa) Monk of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; Cindy (Charles) Bennett of Marshalltown; Russell Monk of Marshalltown; and Roger (Sandy) Monk, also of Marshalltown. Her family continues through her 14 grandchildren—Kisha Cahalan, Kent Monk, Lacey Perisho, Katie Acee, Brandy Gardner, Crystal Weig, Mason Monk, Paige Dierschow, Nicki Monk, Zachery Monk, Ryan Monk, Amber Monk, Heather Simpson, and Andrea Lovan—along with 26 great‑grandchildren and 7 great‑great‑grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Michael Gaule of Minnesota; her daughter‑in‑law, Shelly Monk of State Center; and many nieces and nephews.

Beverly is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; her parents, Clifford and Leota; her brother, Floyd Gaule; her sister, Phyllis Bathurst; and her three children, Ricky, Randal, and Linda.
