Beverly Sommerlot

Beverly Rae Sommerlot, 68, of Marshalltown, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018 at her home.  Memorial services for Bev will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Bev and her family.  Beverly Allison was born on April 15, 1949 in Eldora to Ray and Helen Allison. She graduated from Steamboat Rock High School and went on to Ellsworth Community College where she earned a two year degree. Prior to retiring, Bev worked in several positions for the Times Republican and most recently managed the Penny Saver. She enjoyed playing cards with her card club friends, golfing, and especially enjoyed being a grandmother.  Bev would like you to know that her work here is done.  She received an offer that she could not refuse, where the pay is heavenly and benefits are amazing.  Of the many benefits with her new assignment is a reunion with family and friends not seen in a while.  Her new endeavor includes golfing, dancing, and playing cards to her hearts content.  She hopes her close friends, card club members, and family will smile with her memory, and know that there is one more guardian angel smiling down on you.  Until we meet again, Bev.  Bev is survived by her children Andy Sommerlot of Marshalltown, Angie (Al) Paxson of Conrad, her grandchildren, Faith Lynn Sommerlot, Kenna Rae Paxson and Alex Arthur Paxson. She is also survived by her sister Shirley (Dale) Teske of Eldora, her nieces, nephew and families.    Bev is preceded in death by her parents Ray and Helen.
