Beverly Woodley was born on September 22nd, 1941, in Santa Monica, California; she was the daughter of Dillman and Mildred (Miller) Woodley. The family had moved to Marshalltown where she attended school. Mid-way through her senior year, her family moved to Rapid City, SD, and Bev would graduate from another high school. She was close to her class at Marshalltown and had been elected to serve as class secretary. The class of 1959 loved her back and made her an honorary member of that class when she moved.
On November 23rd, 1963, she was united in marriage to John Swearingen at the Central Christian Church in Marshalltown. Marshalltown was home all of their married lives where they raised two wonderful children- Brad and Jillian. When the children were young, John and Bev purchased a place at Lake Cornelia near Clarion and made many family memories since that time. In Marshalltown, Bev had been employed as a bank teller at Commercial Bank and later as a para at Franklin Schools for 18 years. Bev was also a faithful member of the Central Christian Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her children- Brad (Jennifer) of Coralville and Jillian (Jeff Turner) of Marshalltown; four grandchildren- Katelyn Swearingen and Miranda (Tim) Lucken and Zakary (Melissa Radmaker) and Alex Herink, and nephew, Derek Woodley.
In death, Bev rejoined her beloved John, brother Gary Woodley and her parents.
