Billy (Bill) Lee Williams, 70, of Marshalltown, formerly of Montour died Sunday August, 2, 2009 at the Iowa River Hospice House in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be held at 10:30, Thursday August 6th, 2009 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 5th 2009, from 5:00 to 7:00p.m.at the Funeral home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to Iowa River Hospice. Bill was born June, 13, 1939 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Kenneth and Mary Jane (Quigley) Williams. He attended Montour High school, graduating in 1957 and then attended Iowa State University. Bill married Janice Louise (Walden) on August, 10th 1963 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. After they were married they lived in Chicago, Illinois, the Cedar Rapids area, and Montour for 40 years before moving to Marshalltown 2 years ago. Bill worked at Lennox in Marshalltown and Williams Manufacturing in Tama and retired in 2004. He loved to do woodworking and enjoyed camping. Bill was a very lovable guy and enjoyed helping others and especially enjoyed his volunteer work at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center and the Carrington Place Nursing Home in Tama. Left to cherish Bills memory are his wife Jan, son Scott (Stacy) Williams of Osage, Iowa, daughters, Shelley (Darrel) Baker of LeGrand, Iowa and Stacy Williams of Urbandale, Iowa, grandchildren; Sckylar, Shantel, and Shayla Williams, Nathan and Noel Collins, Jonathan Baker and Megan Baker, and three brothers Tom (Debbie) Williams of Montour, Dick (Colleen) Williams of Pella, and Bob Williams of Tama,. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Mary Jane Williams and his in-laws Alva and Gweneth Walden.
