Billy Alfred Edwards Sr., 78, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Southridge Specialty Care in Marshalltown. Funeral services for Billy will take place on Saturday, February 13 at 1:30 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home, followed by burial at Riverside Cemetery. A visitation will take place prior to the service, beginning at noon. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for later designation. After meeting the love of his life, Sandy Miller, they were united in marriage on his birthday in 1965. Together they moved to Marshalltown, where Billy has called home for over 50 years. He was a hard worker, devoting 23 years to Gra-Iron Foundry, followed by over 25 years in maintenance at JBS, where he retired. In his free time, Billy loved fishing, NASCAR and driving around town, especially to check in on his family. He absolutely adored spending time with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. Those left to cherish his memory are his children: Billy A. Edwards, Jr. and Tereasa Edwards; Grandchildren: Robbie Baker, Chad Baker, Amber (Josh) Stanton, Brandon (Kayla) Edwards, Brad Edwards, Jack (Tricia) Edwards, Ryan (Casey) Edwards and Amiaha Edwards; numerous great-grandchildren and his sister, Irene (Frank) Evans. Billy is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandy; son, Ray Miller; daughter, Melody Schmidt; his parents, Jack and Ruby; siblings: Rose Williford and Robert Edwards; and his daughter-in-law, Melissa Edwards.
