Blas Chavarria Garcia

Blas Chavarria Garcia, age 48, of Marshalltown, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 23rd, 2020 at UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital in Waterloo. A funeral mass for Blas will take place on Saturday, August 29th at 9:00 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Parish: St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marshalltown.  A visitation will be held Friday, August 28th from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home.  A memorial fund is being established by the family.  For additional questions or to leave a condolence, please visit www.mitchellfh.com or call 641-844-1234. Blas was born on October 11, 1971 in Ejido Modelo Municipio de Tizapan el Alto Jalisco, Mexico to parents Blas Chavarria Avalos and Rosa Garcia Chavarria.  He married Teresa Alcaraz Chavarria and together they called Marshalltown home.  Blas worked in construction.  In his free time, he enjoyed working as a hobby mechanic in his garage full of tools.  Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Teresa; his children: Maria Tere Chavarria, Jaime Chavarria, Jimena Chavarria, Blas David Chavarria, Janet (Francisco) Madrigal and Jasmine (Victor) Cisneros; 5 grandchildren: Anthony, Evelyn, Romeo, Adrian and Liam; his father, Blas and his siblings: Jesus Chavarria, Juan Carlos Chavarria, Rosendo Chavarria, Graciela Chavarria, Sandra Chavarria, Maria Guadalupe Chavarria, Enrique Chavarria, Ramon Chavarria, Rosa Chavarria, Maria Del Refugio Chavarria and Roberto Chavarria.  Blas is preceded in death by his mother, Rosa and his brother, Jaime Chavarria Garcia.
