Bob L Smith, 73, of Marshalltown, passed away on November 30, 2012 surrounded by his loving family under the care of Iowa River Hospice.Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 3, 2012, also at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Bob's family. On November 14, 1958 Bob married Ardyce Kile in Newton, Iowa. They lived in Newton from 1958 until 1970 and also called Coralville, Marshalltown and North Liberty home as well. Bob had been employed as an Electrician with Meisner Electric. Bob was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and had football season tickets for 29 years. Bob loved to go antiquing, fishing, gardening and even would go with Ardyce to craft shows but above all else he dearly loved and cherished his family.Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years Ardyce; children: Cindy (Brian) Davis of Marshalltown, Iowa and Mark (Marcia) Smith of Round Rock, Texas; brothers: Leroy (Gloria) Smith of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Keith (Bev) Smith of Baxter, Iowa and Charles (Barb) Smith of Newton, Iowa; grandchildren: Tyler (Carly) Davis of Gladbrook, Iowa, Renee (Rich) Hendrick of Nashville, Tennessee and Ryan Smith of Round Rock, Texas; great grandchildren: Tatum Ridout and Kennedy Davis from Gladbrook and numerous nieces and nephews.Preceding Bob in death are both of his parents.
