Bonnie Grabenbauer

Bonnie Lou Grabenbauer, 88, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away February 14, 2019 at Iowa River Hospice Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 18, 2019 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. A public visitation has been canceled due to weather. Memorial contributions may be made to the Iowa River Hospice Home of Marshalltown or to the Marshalltown Area United Way for families impacted by the tornado in Bonnie’s name. For condolences please visit www.Mitchellfh.com or call (641)-844-1234.   Bonnie was born on August 18, 1930 to parents Florine and Walter White in Marshalltown.  She married Earl Grabenbauer in 1950.  Bonnie and Earl had two daughters Marie and Jeanie. Bonnie was the proud proprietor of Bonnie’s Boutique and Salon on Jackson Street.  She loved music: she sang and played the piano for Sweet Adelines as well as in church.  Faith played a central role in Bonnie’s life and gave her strength amid life’s adversity.  She spent many hours studying the Bible and teaching others.  Bonnie was proud of her time as a city council representative and believed in the importance of civic and political involvement.  Bonnie treasured her family and her pets.  She was generous with her love. Bonnie is survived by: sister Donna (Danny); daughters Marie, Jean (Rusty); granddaughters Jill (Tom), Jami (Henry); great granddaughters Olivia and Julia; and longtime friend Marsha (Dennis).  She was preceded in death by husband Earl; parents Walter and Florine White; sisters June and Betty; and brothers Lawrence and Ronnie.
