Bonnie M. (Mrs. Richard) Odle, 72, of Green Mountain, died late Sunday night, February 15th, at the Grandview Heights in Marshalltown while in their care, Iowa River Hospice and her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 19th, at the Green Mountain United Church of Christ with Pastor Kim Wilson officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Green Mountain Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Born Bonnie Marie Collins on September 21st, 1936, in Dykes, Missouri, she was the daughter of Lee and Nora (Richards) Collins. She graduated from Houston, Missouri in 1954. On April 14th, 1956, she was united in marriage to Richard Odle in Hernando, Mississippi. They made their home in Houston until 1958 when they moved to Green Mountain. Bonnie was a homemaker, nurses aid, did home health care, seasonal jobs at Lynks Seeds, the MCC food cart and assisted at the school. She was an active member of the Green Mountain United Church of Christ, the Green Mountain Lioness, OWO (Our Wednesday Out) Fellowship, House of Compassion in Marshalltown as a volunteer and Cub Scouts in years past. She was always generous, forgiving, compassionate, and supportive of her sons activities whether in childhood or adulthood. She enjoyed fishing, family dinners, camping and visiting family here and in Missouri. Left to cherish her memory are Richard, her loving husband of 52 years, her children: Terry (Conni) Odle of Altoona, Tim (Lori) Odle of Green Mountain, Tom (Annette) Odle of Plano, Texas, Tab Odle of Eureka, Kansas, four grandchildren, one step-grandchild, two step-great-grandchildren, sister Nora Lee Hutsell of Houston, MO, brother Steve Collins of Houston, MO, sister Sue Hensley of Lees Summit, MO her niece Stephanie (Scott) Mesplay of St. Louis, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In death she has rejoined her parents, four half sisters and one half brother.
