Bonnie Jean Sawyer, 61, of Tama, died Thursday, April 24, 2008, at her home under the care of her loving family and Iowa Hospice. A celebration of Bonnies life will be held on Monday, April 28th at 1:00 p.m., at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Montour. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home on Monday from 9:30 until the service time with the family being present beginning at 11:00 a.m. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Bonnie and her family. Bonnie Jean Manfull was born on April 7, 1947 in Marshalltown to Floyd and Gladys (Rahfeldt) Manfull. She was educated in the Gilman and SEMCO schools, graduating in 1965. On June 11, 1966, she married Mike Sawyer at the Gilman United Methodist Church. They lived in Montour and Tama during their married life. Bonnie worked at Midwest Spring in Marshalltown and also at Fisher Controls in customer service for 32 years. Bonnie was a member of the Tama-Toledo Country Club. She enjoyed golfing, fixing the house, being a homemaker, flowers, catching fish, and children. Her nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews were very special to her. Remembering Bonnie are Mike, her husband; her father, Floyd (Blanche) Manfull of Montour; her sister Bette Schied of Montour; nephews Wes Schied, Barry Corder, Brett (Erin)Sawyer, Brian Sawyer, Nick Sawyer, Jerry (Carrie) Sawyer, Jay Sawyer, andTroy(Julie) Underhill; nieces Mandy (Jason) Lekin, Cindy(Rex) Day, and Starla(Rich) Amendt; great-nieces Taylor Lekin, Amby Corder, and Maddie Greer; great-nephews Lane Lekin and Jace Corder; and several other great-nieces and great-nephews. In death, Bonnie has rejoined her mother, Gladys Manfull, and her grandparents.
