Bonnie Lou Stanley, 70, of Marshalltown died Monday, April 13th, 2009 at Grandview Heights Nursing Home. A celebration of Bonnies life will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 16th at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Bobby Shomo officiating. The Mitchell family Funeral Home is caring for Bonnie and her family, phone 641-844-1234. Born Bonnie Lou Chase on April 28th, 1938 in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Albert and Helen Chase. Bonnie grew up in, and attended school in Marshalltown. On February 1st, 1957 she was united in marriage to Howard Stanley. They later divorced, but remained close friends. Bonnie was a homemaker and enjoyed going fishing, taking care of her family, and spending a great deal of time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered and missed by all who knew and loved her.Left to cherish Bonnies memory are her children: Howard Stanley Jr. of Florida, Steven Stanley of Texas, Helen (Dennis) Buchannan of Marshalltown, Julie Stanley of Marshalltown, Gregory Stanley of Nevada, IA, Teresa (Terry) Hinegardener of Montour, and Amy (Bradley) Meling of Marshalltown; her 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her three sisters and one brother; and her former husband, and long-time companion Howard Stanley, as well as nieces, nephews, and friends.In death, Bonnie has rejoined her parents and sister.
