Bounthip Baccam

Bounthip Baccam, 79, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in the comfort of her home in Marshalltown, Iowa.

Funeral services for Bounthip have been scheduled for Monday, May 18, 2026 starting at 2:30 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home of Marshalltown. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., also at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation. Bounthip Baccam was born on December 12, 1946, in Sonla, Vietnam, to her parents Binh (Father) and Ng Po (Mother) Baccam. She later married Khamnouane Baccam, and together they built a loving family that included their three sons. After immigrating to the United States, Bounthip continued her education at Marshalltown Community College, where she earned her certification as a Nursing Assistant. She dedicated many years of compassionate service to the Iowa Veterans Home, caring for residents with dignity and kindness until her retirement. Bounthip will be remembered for her strength, her devotion to her family, and her commitment to helping others.

She is survived by her sons: Xayphradith Baccam, Xayphraseauth (Premwadee Nopharat) Baccam, and Xaypani (Denise Wright) Baccam; her two grandchildren: Anthony and Alexis Wright; brother-in-law Dennis Nen Baccam, sisters-in-law: Miew Baccam, Eui Bennett, Om Bouphanphan, Kong Baccam, and Daoka Collins; and her mother-in-law Beui Baccam.

She is preceded in death by her parents Binh and Ng Po, and her husband Khamnouane.
