Boyd Church

Boyd O. Church, 96, of Marshalltown, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Hawkeye Care Center in Marshalltown. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Boyd and his family. Boyd Church was born on February 19, 1921 in Marshalltown to Curtis and Louise Frances Ford Church. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II. On May 8, 1941, Boyd was united in marriage to Emma Rose Swearingen in Princeton, Missouri. They lived their married lives together in Marshalltown. Emma passed away in 2009. Boyd had been employed with Martin Marietta Aggregates Corp. He enjoyed trading cars. Boyd is survived by his grandchildren, Toby Buchanan, Wendy Buchanan and Phaedra Martinez. He is also survived by four great grandchildren and his sister Helen Phillip of Cedar Rapids. Boyd is preceded in death by his wife, Emma; children, Dennis Boyd Church and Susan Buchanan; parents Curtis and Louise and his brothers, Lloyd Church and Wayne Church.
