Brandon Michael Overman

Brandon “Boog” Overman, 31, passed away on July 12, 2026.

Brandon was born in December of 1994 to John Overman and Lisa Overman in Des Moines. Boog lived his life to the fullest: full throttle, 10 foot tall and bulletproof. He was always cracking jokes and the loudest in the room. Chatty by nature, he knew no stranger. He will be greatly missed.

Brandon is survived by his father: John (Elizabeth) Overman; mother: Lisa Overman; sister: Chantel (Adam) Nicholson; nieces: Brylea and Amelia Nicholson; grandfather: William “Bill” Overman and grandmother: Barbara “Barb” Gardner along with uncles, aunts, cousins and many, many friends.

Brandon is preceded in death by his grandparents: Don and Sandi Hancock; grandmother: Sandy Overman; and grandfather: Donald “Duck” Gardner.

Brandon will be laid to rest with the love of his life, Chandler Kendall in Rhodes.

A Celebration of Life for Boog will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Impala Ballroom in Marshalltown. Burial will follow the celebration in Rhodes, then everyone is welcome back to Impala for a taco bar. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Brandon and his family.
